In our other Spotify template, Spotify is announcing a brand-new feature. This modal is slightly different. It is:

1. Used on Desktop, rather than Mobile

2. Showing off existing features to users who haven't yet tried them

3. Anchored to a specific page element, in this case the Shuffle button

We think this modal is effective for an number of reasons. First, it's quite small but still punchy due to the bright blue color. The blue is a very Spotify color, standing out. Second, it highlights a functionality at the right time — exactly when I'm looking to play a playlist. Right time, right place.

Finally, this modal can be dismissed by either 1. Clicking the Shuffle button, or 2. Dismissing the modal. Offering multiple ways to remove a modal is a great choice. Every modal introduces user friction, so finding ways to lessen that friction is important.
