Linear has one of the simplest and elegant feature announcements out there. As a company focused on design, it's no surprise that they also work hard to announce updates without annoying users.

This modal usually sits in the bottom left or right corners, rather than appearing in the middle of a user's screen. It persists until dismissed, but has better staying power due to it's unobtrusive design. We believe this style of feature announcement is far better than a large, centered modal.

Whereas most modals contain CTAs, this modal functions itself as a large CTA button. Clicking anywhere on the modal, other than on the dismissal button, opens up a larger modal with information about the update.
